The Birth Place of BooGardens
In 2010, one of our fellow Aquapon friends had started designing a 30 foot geodesic bio dome blue print. At that same time being that we are very much of the feeling, that if the world has the means to grow its own food, that the world would be quite a different place to live, and become very interested in aquaculture, at the same time, collective conscientiousness stuff if you know what I mean. AquaPonics which is the merging of two things, one being fish or aqua culture, and the other being ponics culture or growing in water rather than soil. Using the fish waste/poop to fertilize your plants eliminates the need for added fertilizer.
We came together and built a 30 foot dome with 200 rainbow trout feeding the entire dome. We also used lava rocks for our grow medium for root veggies. As the dome progressed so did the knowledge that vertical gardening is the most effective method for gardening to date. As we worked with the plastic PVC for towers, we always had a feeling that something just didn’t feel right about it. Or maybe the term is it didn’t feel natural enough to belong in the energy of the dome, which is quite amazing in and of itself, let alone when the AquaPponics culture is brought into the mix I might add.Our founder and designer of the BooGardens happens to have a fiance living in South Asia where it’s bamboo central. He hopped on a plane, brought back some prototypes and the rest is, as they say history.
We now have watched something that is hard to improve upon, meaning aquaponics, aeroponics and hydroponics, actually do just that… it now can be done using natural material, and is simply beautiful to look at, at the same time.
Now we feel that if the world can learn to grow their own food using 95% less water, increasing yields by 50 to 60 % using a sustainable natural product like bamboo… starvation will become but a sad piece of human history! And NaturePonics/BooGardens, are working to do our part. We do offer custom built AquaPonics Bio-Domes and greenhouses and have medium and indoor residential systems as well.
